It's all about accessorizing

So, this weekend I told you that my husband sent me yarn shopping. While at Hobby Lobby I found this tote. I got it on sale for the UNBELIEVABLE price of $12.23 and it is an amazing bag.

I belong to an internet buddy group and we've started doing monthly knit alongs. This month we're working on this dishcloth. It's my very first pattern based project I've worked on. I've sort of just made it up as I went along.

I'm really in love with the idea of making purses right now. I bought some purse handles and have Bernat Boa in red/black to do a purse. I'm thinking of adding some fun fur to the top of it, but I'm not sure yet.

I'm anxious to get back to a loom project. I've got some patters to do fun things like toddler knit pants and leg warmers, that sort of thing. I'll post pics when I'm done!

In the meantime, do you ever find on the nights you most want to knit, you just don't have the time? And on the nights you have the time you don't want to knit. we've been dealing with "fits of independence" from Zoe lately and while knitting is usually better than Zanex for me lately I just want to veg out and watch TV. Part of that may also be because I have so many projects rattling around in my head I just don't know where to start.

All I can say is I'm glad for my SpeakEasy girls because they keep me inspired, even though we are a new group!

In the beginning...

A knitting addict was born. I started knitting this in September '06, so not too terribly long ago. There are tons of knitting blogs out there and I love the idea, so being the trend follower that I am I thought "why not?" A million knitters can't be wrong.

Here's the lowdown on me:

I'm 31, mother of a beautiful "spirited" daughter and wife to my best friend, David.

I needle knit, as well as loom knit. I love both equally but I have to confess that I've always had a secret desire to be a milliner so making hats on my looms may just be my favorite thing to do.

For lack of a better way to introduce myself, I'll start by showing you some of my elementary work.

Camo skull cap - knitted in garter stitch with Bernat Camo on the green Knifty Knitter loom.

"Mod" Bucket hat - knitted in garter stitch on the green Knifty Knitter loom with half a ball of Bernat Sassy Sparkle Bling Bling yarn.

Newborn hat (one of a set for twins) - knitted in garter stitch on the blue Knifty Knitter Loom using Bernat Baby Coordinates Soft Blue

Scarf - Knitted using Homespun (yarn color, needles size and pattern to come)

That should do for now.....welcome to my blog!
